I ran a commercial and wedding photography business in Wilton, New Hampshire, and then a commercial photography business in Portland, Maine. I have also dedicated myself to serious "art" photography, have work in the permanent collection of the Portland Museum of Art, and have had many solo and group shows.
I taught photography classes at the Sharon (NH) Arts Center, and at the University of Southern Maine extension program, and run workshops on Art and Spirituality. I've been a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association and of the League for New Hampshire Craftsmen, and a board member of the Portland Art Directors Club.
My studies include master classes at the Maine Photographic Workshops with Kate Carter, Arnold Newman, Joyce Tenneson, Sally Mann, Lilo Raymond, Eugene Richards, and Craig Stevens.
I am currently working on a book entitled "Dancers and Dead Fish".
We are thrilled to announce that MAINE Birds member and photographer, Phil Stone, will be showing his magnificent bird photography (among other fabulous photos) at the Footlights Theatre from March 30- May 1.
An artist reception will be held Saturday, April 7th
